GIVE THE ELECTRONICS A PLACE TO BELONG

Mechanical design gives the product its physical boundaries. Our CAD service supports part and enclosure modelling, assembly coordination and technical drawings, with the intended fabrication approach considered in the brief.

ENGINEERING SCOPE

Scope of work

The exact activities, depth of review and outputs are defined for your project.

01

Constraints & layout

Capture external dimensions, board locations, mounting needs, connectors and access requirements.

02

Part & enclosure models

Develop the agreed 3D parts and enclosure geometry around the product requirements and reference dimensions.

03

Assembly review

Review how parts come together, with attention to clearances, mounting, connector access and serviceability.

04

Drawing & file handover

Prepare the agreed model exports and technical drawings with relevant dimensions and revision notes.

WHAT YOU TAKE FORWARD

Typical deliverables

  • 3D part and assembly models in agreed formats
  • Neutral-format exports, where scoped
  • Dimensioned technical drawings
  • Assembly views or fit-review notes
  • Revision record and open design assumptions

Illustrative deliverables. Final outputs, file formats, ownership terms and acceptance criteria are agreed in the project scope.

WHAT HELPS US START

Information to share

  • Board outline or existing 3D PCB model
  • Required external dimensions and mounting locations
  • Connector positions and user-access requirements
  • Preferred material and intended fabrication process
  • Reference parts, existing models or sketches

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

Engineering considerations

Fit

Board placement, component heights, connector reach and assembly clearances.

Use

Access to controls, installation points and expected maintenance needs.

Fabrication

Material choice, tolerances and process constraints to discuss with the manufacturer.

SERVICE QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Can CAD work start before the PCB is final?

Yes, with agreed reference dimensions and interface assumptions. Changes to the board outline or connector positions may require mechanical revisions.

Do you provide physical prototypes?

The core service is design and CAD documentation. Printing, machining, tooling or other physical fabrication must be discussed as separate scope.

Which file format will I receive?

The required native and exchange formats are agreed before work begins. Share the tools or manufacturer requirements that the files need to support.

Discuss your engineering requirements.

Send a brief, current project stage and the support you need.
